If it is a cartoon, it is okay. Criterion covers are okay also, as well as fan made

I’ll edit when I think of more

BQ: Do you think movie posters could be better?
BQ2: Last movie you watched, thoughts?
BQ3: What’s better: your favourite movie from 1973 or 1983? (please tell me both)

for me… The Exorcist or Videodrome… The Exorcist wins.

thanks for any answers enjoy the rest of your week all icon smile What are your favourite movie posters that dont contain any of the actors faces?
@Joey: Great pick, that poster is iconic!
@Brenda: I love the Harry Potter one, especially the effects in the water! And I can see why there are jokes about it online!
@Woodi: You picked two incredibly iconic posters from two fantastic films… the ET one is beautiful, the Platoon one captures the mood perfectly…
@Liam: Def agree with the BQ- especially today they are lacking. The Social Network was a terrific film but my god were the posters ugly. Nice picks for the MQ- 2001: A Space Odyseey’s my favourite poster out of those
@Donny: Oh congratulations! 5,000 wow… About the wrestler… eh I’m mixed too, I will say it counts though. Love the Chinatown one. ‘tsk ‘tsk on cabin in the woods… lol
@Jack: Oh great picks – love Inglorious Basterds and all of them! Also love the one for the pianist.

I like Chinatown and Vertigo too but this 4 are the best

BQ: Yes, do you know that movie poster had cliches too? http://www.boredpanda.com/movie-poster-cliches/

BQ2: HairSpray ( 2007 ) I like this movie a lot, especially the part with John Travolta and Christopher Walken dancing together, it’s really funny

BQ3: Paper Moon and Scarface, Scarface it’s better

    Hi Suicidal

    Stephen Kings Sleepwalkers

BQ I think they are pretty cool the way they are
BQ2 I have been of the grid for a couple of weeks

the classic “The Day The Earth Stood Still” it is my favorite because it was the first Sci-Fi movie taken seriously as a film.

  4. ThirstyPretzel says:

Off the top of my head: Barry Lyndon. Very striking and dramatic.

BQ: Of course they could be better. Nay, SHOULD be better.
BQ2: Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. I watched it for no other reason than because Patricia Arquette was in it. Yummy. It was disappointing after the not-horrible first Freddy movie. This was a very cliched, by-the-numbers horror movie, but maybe it seemed more original back in 87.
BQ3: Can’t even think of what my favorite movies from those years are, not off the top of my head. I’m tired. Hopefully I’ll dream about Patricia Arquette and not Freddy………

Very good/hard question. Also, my 5000th answer lol

    Fargo

    Mean Streets

The Wrestler (i’m iffy on whether it counts or not)

    Chinatown

BQ- yeah. most of them are very bland and generic. oh well though

BQ2- I got my neighbor to download The Cabin in the Woods (legally, of course), and I rewatched it on Sunday. fantastic movie

BQ3- Mean Streets vs. The King of Comedy. both are top 25, but Mean Streets wins

  6. Liam says:

    Hey Suicidal :)
    A Clockwork Orange
    American Beauty
    2001: A Space Odyssey
    Magnolia
    Fargo
    Eastern Promises
    The Wicker Man

BQ: Some of them. I’d like some more originality with the posters for movies coming out at the moment. Usually just photo-shopped pictures of the actors, with explosions and whatnot in the background
BQ2: Midnight in Paris, I really enjoyed it
BQ3: 1973 – The Wicker Man, 1983 – Scarface. The Wicker Man wins

Yes, I think movie posters can be much better–they’re virtually all the same. There’s jokes about it online.
I don’t know the exact movies that came out around the time, but I know the last Star Wars was in the 1970s so I’ll say that one.
