Christians! Do you question the motives of the Council of Nicea ‘deciding’ on dates when Jesus was born and died?
If Jesus was real and the bible is real life, ‘god inspired’ accounts, these dates being easily deduced and surely, not to be tampered with, why in 325AD, did the Council of Nicea decide when his birth was to be celebrated?
The biblical Luke, ties Jesus’ 30th year to the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar, 27-28 AD. Luke effectively placed the birth in 3 BC.
Luke tells what happened the day Mary came to the Temple for purification, 40 days after the birth of Jesus. Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement, 10th day of the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. This means Jesus was born on or around September 11, by todays calendar.
There’s other evidence that approximates these dates as being realistic, (a simple google search will lead you to them, most also being within the bible), But the question is why did the Council of Nicea come up with the dates we celebrate, opposing the ‘word of god’? It’s factual they chose December 25th because it coincided with the Pagan celebration of the Winter Solstice. As did the choice for the date of Easter which is shortly after the Spring Solstice.
If the Council of Nicea, some 1800 high ranking believers, freely altered such important dates to suit their own agenda, what makes you believe any of the bible is true?

Indeed, isn’t it interesting to note that they had to convene and hold a number of councils to get their collective lies straight with one another? Make sure they’re all on the same page selling the same BS. It was politically developed, over time, by influential men.
They had a rough idea that Jesus was resurrected around April Fools day but didn’t want that to interfere with the Easter celebrations so they put back the Easter celebrations to a later date.
No one has ever claimed that the days were 100% the day he was born or died. They are the days in the church which they are commemorated.
