I moved into management many years ago (briefly) and I don't know how many meetings I've been in with other management types who didn't know of my technical background and who had -nothing- but bad mouthing for the very techie types who gave them their products to build and sell so that they could make tons of money. It's a sorry f*ckin' world that technical types live in. Doug>> More Pages:
And the day I left management was at a 'joint opportunities strategy' session between 6 different companies (and no, I'm -not- going to mention the companies involved ☺) when, after about 2 hours of listening to 6 CEO's (including my boss) and a couple dozen other VP's bad-mouthing engineers and other techie types, I stood my old cowboy a$ $ up and announced, "You know, I'd just -love- to watch you c*cksuckers running in circles in a lab trying to get something working. But as it is, I'm just gonna drag my high-tech a$ $ outta here." And I left (and this was back in the early 80's when $ 125K a year jobs didn't exactly grow on trees) and went into teaching and private consulting. And I've never looked back.

Gosh we are angry. Americans tend to speak violent and foul language when they are angry. I swear when I am angry. There is foul indian word ‘fuddu”, when angry I would utter it and the poison threatening to contaminate and corrupt my soul would abate. I visited my parent’s home and let slip the word in description of a nasty fellow I disliked. It was a strange moment. Time stood still and the parents did not respond.
One questioned as to whether know what the word means, and I frankly I admitted that although I had a vague notion I did not. I have lived quite a sheltered life giving due consideration to my worldliness.
A group of mass incompetents do not by virtue of numbers become any brighter. The majority or block vote is a force but it is rarely right. Six or six million, is of little consequence if the one at the helm is incredulously dumb.
