I’m looking at getting a job as a manga editor; not working together with online scanlators and all, but with the likes of Viz media. Any idea what kind of qualifications I need? It is necessary for me to get a degree in journalism? Beside this, anything else that I will find useful?

you need to live in japan
You need to be good with story development and being able to read facial expressions and being able to suggest ways to change expression so the scene can get the right mood of the story
btw viz doesn’t edit manga they just translate it and release it the original mangakas work with the editors(kondansha,kadokawa…etc.) to help publish it whether it be in a weekly or monthly magazine.
