The Group was justifying that Altruistic Values and goodness was irrational and the only motive worth pursuing was extreme selfishness?
As a Graduate from Australia’s most prestigious University UTS and having grown up in a family where dad in the same profession whom worked with me ten years, brought Westmead Hospital, the Sydney Police Centre and Sydney Olympics in ahead of time and under budget, you have to say the premise that shafting others arround you had extremely large cost blow outs cash flow problems and massive indebtedness, all of which American and pretty much a lot of the world with in the OECD excepting Australia which is pretty much top of the class which failed?
My point is extremely simple? An extreme risk assessment has not been done?
Yes a balance between rich and poor needs proper assessment, but when you sum the total of any benefits of one individual succeeding at the expence of many its not profitable. Dad used to compare it to a Monopoly and a Collussive Olligopoly. The Oligopoly being the most profitable for a marketed economy thats not open market or Capital Economy?
Selfishness has amazing spill over costs in not having left enough for the others.
If you look at the definition of a Market Economy being the allocation of scarce resources to insatiable wants, its neither about stockpiling massive amounts of goods and having them go out of date, whilst others starve no issueing a decree whats mines mine, and whats yours is mine also?
Surely the Wall Street Protests are teaching one very important lesson not heeded elsewhere?
Libia, Egypt all these despots have fallen because as the need for greed increased the lost security by have nots wanting to have increases? Surely the correct balance is how you do what you do with a pursuit of excellence?
By way of example, during the 1970′s I witnessed my dad program and flow one million dollars a week where 200 engineers and 200 Architects off the street were employed to fast track a ten block major hospital where he had enough time letf to do the colour scheme selection,. Merely Six Quantity Surveyors worked to bring it in ahead of time and under budget?
Whatever your project is in life? You can not win with legal arguments cost blow outs time delays and industrial disputation, the idea that if charm is on board you have the highest negotiation skill on moral ground to build your project?
I dont know why when Labor is in power Industrial Relations really suffer, wage blow outs, the inablity to manage what can be done, welfare programs and the like fail to achieve, and yet, with John Howard, he realised Peter Costello was a brilliant Treasurer, this is not withstanding my dad worked for Whitlam and Wran and achieved the same under Conservative Leadership of Griener on SPC and Sydney 2000 although that was Fahey?
I really think there is something DESPARATELY wrong with American Trauma Centres to say the war in Iraq has had a stockpile of medicines where they are needed in a war theatre to treat soldiers and those whom have returned home mean the Doctor has to consult a pharmacology book to find what they have to do the same thing on something like and anitbiotic?
Surely the Soldier in the War Theatre deserves as much of our best as the Solider returned home injured to his or her family and the duty of care to love nuture and cherish not just our War Heroes is as important as the Average Citizen they give their so many precious lives defending, when they return home it means a lot to say, “Fifteen years ago when I left here you were dancing, and you still are???” Meanwhile I think what have I done with my life? What have we done with our ability to manage a project if not a medical or pharmacy to those in Medical Care, fifteen years from now, are we still going to blame a shortage of raw materials and there being no profit in generic meds or promote wellness to reduce demand on consumption and better manage our projects and worthy payments to staff?
DO YOU THINK LOGIC ADEQUATELY DEFINES SPILL OVER COSTS IN SELFISHNESS???

I don’t think logic adequately explains the real world, because the real world is based on a logic that is beyond human understanding. We live in a dynamic and pragmatic world that can’t be broken down so simply.
A few points; what exactly is a “proper assessment of balance” between rich and poor, and what would you do with this information?
Your definition of “market economy” is very specific, including words like ‘insatiable’ (what do you mean by ‘insatiable’?). I do not believe that a market economy, as a general concept, can be defined so narrowly. Did you mean “the American market”, or some other market in particular?
Your question is reminiscent of a political speech. Was that your intention?
I would recommend editing out most of your question marks. You need to sound confident if you want to make your point effectively (I’m speaking from experience here).
