If you can handle older shows, I’d say go in order. That with the original series, then watch The Next Generation and the movies, then DS9, Voyager and Enterprise (although the latter two were pretty bad IMO).

You can watch episodes of the original series free online at http://www.cbs.com/classics/star_trek/index.php if you’d like to get a taste of what it’s like.

Welcome to the world of sci-fi. Spike & Sci-Fi Channels show the Star Trek type shows, although I don’t know the schedule programming for your area. The shows are: Star Trek; Star Trek: The Next Generation; Star Trek Voyager and Star Trek Enterprise. This should get you started.

Well, if you are really serious about watching it all, I recommend starting with the original series. The special effects are cheesy from today’s point of view, but for the most part the stories are top notch.

I’m a very sequential type, so then I would recommend watching ST The Next Generation, DS9 then Voyager.

Enterprise had some really good moments, some good story arcs, but it was uneven.

Certainly watch the movies – again, they were uneven, and I know many people don’t like the first one (Star Trek: The Motion Picture), but I think all the movies play a part in the history of Star Trek, and bear watching once. Even some of the later ones have fans that dislike them – Insurrection and Nemesis come to mind.

    Just my 2 cents.
